Description
This listing is for Edwin M. Knowles China Semi~Vitreous Sugar Bowl with Lid and Creamer, #s 4712 & 4810, in an unknown pattern (and I searched for a pattern name but could not find it anywhere on the internet) of a floral group on ivory with fluted body & rim, now a discontinued pattern originally manufactured between the 1940's~1950's, in Newell, West Virginia. The flowers are a rust color w/green leaves & yellow wheat sprays, and appear on both sides of both pieces. Both pieces are marked on their undersides.Creamer measures 5 5/8" end of spout to far end of handle; 3 1/4" tall to tallest point of handle; 2 7/8" diameter at base bottom.
Lid is 3 7/8" diameter, has knob handle, stands approximately 1 3/4" tall.
Sugar bowl 6 1/4" end of handle to opposite end of handle; stands almost 2 1/2" tall without lid; 3 9/16" diameter at top; 3 1/8" diameter at base.
Condition ~
No cracks, stains, repairs; 4 mm shallow chip base of creamer; very light crazing on lid, moderate on sugar bowl increasing to base with some discoloration, none on creamer; speck of paint loss on creamer; some scrape marks on both bases; 2~3 dark dots on creamer ~ still bright, glossy, lovely pieces in immaculate condition
