Vintage Zen-On MIJ Drumset *RARE*

Description

Vintage Zen-On made in Japan drums, including hardware , pedal, and cymbal. This little kit is in very good to excellent condition for it's age. It's probably from the late 60's or early 70's made from Pearl or Star (who became TAMA). The metal hoops are excellent, very little to no pitting. They are similar to the Slingerland "stick saver" style. The wooden bass drum hoops could use new paint, but the sparkle inlay is intact. The snare has an inside re-ring split (see pics), not too bad though. All the drums seem to be in round and there is no lifting on the wrap. The Zen-On name seems to be extra rare for these Japan made drums, I've yet to see a kit like this online. The hardware is original EXCEPT the tom mount, which is custom made with limited positioning. The shells are mahogany/luan with reinforcement rings that appear to be maple. The pedal (not pictured) and cymbal are both stamped with "Made in Japan". The snare wires have been replaced but I'll include the originals. Most of the drumheads look to be original except the snare side head has a new head on it. The bass drum heads have holes in them (one is very small) and should be replaced.  All in All a great Kit.
