Rogers 1960’s Silver Sparkle 12” x 8” Deep “Tower” Model TomThis auction is for a Rogers 1960’s Silver Sparkle 12” x 8” deep “Tower” model tom, as pictured. Made in Cleveland, Ohio. 5-ply shell with reinforcement rings and painted grey on interior. Paper tag with model and serial number is intact. Wrap has a few light scratches and has darkened due to age. Seam is tight. Reinforcement rings on both sides are separating at seams. Top one is about 4-½” long and bottom one is about 4” long. Shell is slightly out of round but heads still mount easily. Interior has some stains and smudges, as it was obviously used with a single head. A couple of holes are drilled where it took areas out of the inner ply. They appear to be factory. Neither edge is great as they have a number of dings, dents, and bumps. Nail on script badge. Swiv-o-Matic mount with heavy collet nose. Top rim is Rogers and bottom one is replaced and not Rogers. Hardware has pitting that is light to moderate, scratches and areas of rust, especially in recessed areas, interior hardware and tension rods. Bottom rim has some numbers and letters etched on it. 3 different types of tension rods, 4 of which appear original and remainder are replaced. Really cool “players” drum.
