Vintage Antique 1931 Edwin M Knowles China salad/ dessert Set of plates. Pink & lavender flowers, ivory color background. Rim of plates are scalloped gold trim edging. Set of two (2) plates. Measurements are approximates: 7.40" across top, & .70" high from table. Condition: Shows aging, some peeling of gold around rim, fading starting to happen on flowers, as well as on bottom stamping, some cracking going on, glaze shows cracking from the manufacturers design. (See in photos, expand for close-ups on details). Bottom stamp reads "Vitreous Edwin M Knowles China Co. (both are numbered). Selling 2 piece set AS IS. Vitreous China-(Vitreous China is a glazing technique that is added to porcelains. It's a glass-base enamel coating that makes things more durable, denser, and shinier. When a large amount of heat is applied to powdered glass, a liquid called Vitreous Enamel is created). Do NOT put in dishwasher. Do NOT use in oven. Do NOT use in microwave (Due to the aging of these plates, and minor condition shown on them. Still very usable set for special occasions! Also beautiful set if just wanting to display pieces. Prefect for additions to your existing set! Highly recommend hand washing only. Pattern on this set (pink & lavender flowers) has been discontinued. I have tried to note everything I know, I see, I read, as well as heard about these plates.
