Exhibiting elements of both American experimental filmmaking and vanguard European narrative, and a perfect example of American neo-noir, drawing influences from Bresson, Antonioni, Godard, Hitchcock, Lang, and Malle. Nominated for four Academy Awards including Best Picture.
Set in New York City and shot on location there.
